Making Your Riverside Walk More Enjoyable

The best time to walk along Prague's riverside is early morning or late afternoon when temperatures are cooler and crowds are thinner. We've found that most retirees prefer walks between May and September, when the weather is most reliable.

  • Bring comfortable walking shoes with good grip for riverside paths
  • Pack water and perhaps a light snack for longer routes
  • Many routes have benches every 200-300 meters for rest stops
  • Download offline maps in case of poor phone signal
  • Start your walk with a café stop to ease into the day

Prague's riverside promenade network has expanded significantly over the past five years, with better maintenance and more accessible routes. Each route we've featured here includes at least three cafés or water fountains for refreshment, making them ideal for leisurely pacing without worry.
